Meenaks, I am trying to say, why do they try to woo someone who is already left the kollywood. Remember the way she made Pyramid guys run from pillar to post during the final touches of Udhaya.

I don’t underrate Simran. Just that she is over-rated a bit. However I agree she did a great job in Kannathil Muthamittal. Even in Pammal K Sambantham she did a good job. also do remember she had acted lot of useless stuff before that. VIP, Poochoodava, Nerukku Nerr were all lousy.

But why wouldn’t we give these new found talents sometime to prove themselves too.

I am unable to figure out what you mean here. Simran has proved to be very talented in many films, notably Vaali and Kannathil Muththamittaal.

About Jothika, I don’t want to make any comment, because they say, “If Jack is in love with Jill he shoudln’t be a judge of her.” :-))

Exactly..
The kinda films being churned out now, jus dont require the heroine to “act”. The most basic qualifications are drool-worthiness and dancing ability (but if paired w/ heroes w/ 2 left feet like our Captain, adhu kooda vendaam.. Camera-ve aadum!) :)

The talented lot hafta wait for the next Mani Ratnam, or Kamal, or KB film.
And after all those reviews they earn, I dont think they themselves would wanna act in senseless films and commit career-harakiri.
