Mani Ratnam and Sachin come together

Mani Ratnam and Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar may not be playing the Chennai test against Australia. But he is certainly appearing in Mani Ratnam‘s documentary for a social organisation called Shakthi Foundation on physically challenged kids. Seems like Mani Ratnam wished Sachin to be a part of this documentary and Sachin had agreed instantly. It’s reported in today’s dailies that the documentary is set to be shot from today in Chennai.

While it came as a surprise to me as I have been looking around and guessing what will be Mani Ratnam’s next project after Aayitha Ezhuthu. And a big plus when you know Sachin is also contributing to it. I am not speculating here but only hope Illayaraja would tune for it. Then this event would be a great catalyst to bring together Mani Ratnam and Illayaraja, after a long time.

Update: The shoot is scheduled to held at SAF Tennis Stadium, Nungambakkam. Thanks to Ajay for the pointer to the picture.

Do you get news alerts of some sort or you rely on something like ‘google news’… just curious.. and yes! asking this also means you are a pro on bulletins…

i hope it is not “tholizh ragasiyam”! hehe

keep up your good work man…i always enjoy reading your blog.. its like my daily dosage (on par with rediff.com, google news and chicagotribune)

  3. Hey Arvind, Not Thozhil Ragasiyam stuff man. Absolutely not.

Basically most of the news I get is offline. If you are in here, there are lot of sources offline from magazines, FM, Channels etc.

But online, I actually use google for them. news alerts can be a little too boring. but i do get a couple of alerts.

  6. Hello there..How are you? I just came across your site and this article while i was fishing for newspaper writeups on the Sachin-Mani ad. Surprised to find out that both of us had used the same snap from Dinamalar for the our blogs. I worked on the sets of the shoot and it was a great experience. I have posted our experience on http://studentconcepts.blogspot.com. Hope you like it.

I like your site. Since we are all in the same city we can easily relate to most of the articles here. Keep up the good work and all the chennai bloggers should meet up sometime somewhere.
Bye and pls do keep in touch
    Manoj
